Fashion Hurts!

What was Aminake Wilmont, designer of these sole-free high heels thinking with this design? This is just one of the strange designs (along with the see-through man shoes) shown during the Spring 2009 London Fashion Week. I just have one word…ouch!

Pencil Skirt Reinvented

Forever 21 $22.80

Along with the motorcycle jackets I blogged about in a previous post, Pencil skirts are another must-have this Fall. Forever 21 has reinvented the classic pencil skirt with this high-waisted look. You can go from day to night by simply switching tops. One tip for looking more curvaceous is getting a pencil skirt with pockets (it works wonders)... Aside from the pencil skirt being “in” this fall it’s also one of those timeless pieces I love.

Miami #1 in Eye Candy

Where is the best city to find the most eye candy? Well Miami, of course. According to a survey from Travel + Leisure Magazine, Miami has the most attractive residents and got second place for stylishness. New York was voted #1 in SHOPPING, arts, diverse residents and skyline.

Here are some celebs that have a home in Miami:
Shakira
Jennifer Lopez
Enrique Iglesias

Biker Chic

This season it's all about motorcycle jackets. But how do you wear the jacket without looking like you just walked out of the set of Grease? Simple. There are sooo many cute designs such as the crop leather jacket and also hoodies that are very popular this season. This masculine look requires a feminine touch. Try pairing the jacket with a dress (you can even dress it up with a cocktail dress). If you 're going to wear them with jeans, try accessorizing with a nice necklace or toning it down with some ballet flats. A good (real) leather jacket can get pricey. Plan on spending approximately $160 bucks. You might find it cheaper at Loheman's or Burlington Coat Factory.

I read a pretty interesting one called Green Your Wardrobe. This issue also has some of the models from the Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency. What I really like is that you can actually flip through the pages online. You can see this issue and past issues at http://www.bonfiremagazine.com/

FYI…. Lipstick Jungle’s New Season airs tonight on NBC!!

Did any of you catch the Emmy’s last night? Well, this year it seemed celebrities were leaving behind the long gowns and going more for a cocktail dress on the red carpet. Here is a pic. of Eva Longoria wearing a flapper-girl Marchesa dress from their 2009 Spring Collection, with a metallic clutch and silver pointy heels. What do you think….Do you love it or is it too much silver for you???

Fab Find Alert!

I recently came across these amazing bags called
"Mochilas Orinoco" and thought I'd share. The colors and details of each bag are amazing. They have this really cute baby blue colored one I LOVE!! The bags come all the way from the Colombian-Venezuelan border and are handcrafted by a tribe of Indians called Wayuu. I'm always looking for bags that I can just throw all my stuff in and go--so the sizes of these bags are great. There are also so many colors and patterns to chose from....you can see them all on Facebook if you search for "Mochilas Orinoco."

I HEART SCARVES!!

Scarves have been pretty popular all season long...even in the summer. You can wear it around your neck, on your head or even tie it around your purse. I don't own that many scarves since I live in Miami, but I'll be going to NY in November.... so I've been trying to find some cute scarves. I just saw the cutest one this weekend at The Gap for like $29 bucks. They're definitely the perfect accessory to spice up any look or add a splash of color.

You can pair them up with Jeans and a Tee como Jessica Alba (seen here wearing scarves by Tolani) or go for a plaid scarf with fringes (like the ones below) which is making segue this Fall. There's also so many ways to wear them.
