This weekend designer Tory Burch hosted a private shopping event at her Bal Harbour Boutique. And guests didn't have to feel that guilty splurging on some items, since it was all for a good cause. A portion of the proceeds went to the International Kids Fund, an organization that helps international children who are in need of life changing medical care. Shopping = Good Health
So I was reading an interesting article this weekend on Women's Health Mag. that says that shopping is good for your mental and physical health. Not that we needed another excuse to get our significant other to come with us to the mall. But according to researchers "it releases mood-lifting endorphins, boosts your immune system, keeps your brain nimble, and even fulfills basic social needs."
If you're on a budget and can't go shopping all the time (like most of us are) even window shopping releases feel-good chemicals in your brain. They say this happens because shopping is associated with "increased activity in a part of the brain that has been linked to pleasure and positive thinking." So on that note, I guess I'm off to go stimulate my brain cells.

Trooper Boots in NY
I introduce to you my trooper boots. When packing to go to New York last week, I knew the first thing I needed was a good pair of walking shoes. I learned my lesson last year when I wore some really uncomfortable shoes when I went to San Francisco. I ended up with three blisters and making an emergency stop to buy new shoes. Well it's safe to say my shoes passed the test. I walked what seemed like 50 blocks each day and they were really comfortable (they also kept my feet nice and warm). These Mossimo Boots were only $29.99 at Target.
