They’re Baaaaack. Designers such as Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Renta, Zac Posen and Diane von Furstenberg were just some of the designers at New York Fashion Week that were embracing the bold shoulder pads. Could it be that the 80’s linebacker look is making a comeback? Linda Wells, editor in chief of Allure Magazine told USA Today that “ They make the waist and hips look smaller, and they give a defined look, vs. the slouchy, relaxed throw-a-cardigan-over-everything style of dressing.”
I was actually cleaning out my closet a couple of months ago and came across an old blazer that had shoulder pads!! I kept the blazer, but just cut off the shoulder pads. I’m not too sure if I’ll be sewing them back anytime soon. What do you think of shoulder pads making a comeback…would you wear it?

In case you missed it...After 15 years of having New York Fashion Week held at Bryant Park organizers of the event announced that they will move the event to Lincoln Center beginning 2010. They had been receiving complaints from the park management for a while that it was getting in the way of the skating rink during the winter and regular use of the park in the summer. It's also grown in size, so it's new local will help in accomodating all of the designers.
This just in...The stars of Sex and the City and writer-director Michael Patrick King have signed a deal to do a sequel of the movie. According to E! Online "King has yet to write a script, but shooting will reportedly begin this summer with a release date sometime in summer 2010."
