Beauty: Neutrogena Wave Sonic Power-Cleanser + Giveaway!

July 11, 2011

**Contest is now closed** Congratulations to Rachelle and Ai Mei on winning the giveaway. Thanks again to all that entered and p.s. there's more fun giveaways coming up this week! Please email me at vivafashionblog@gmail.com to claim your prize.

So after spending one week out in the sun during my beach vacation, my  face was starting to look very dry and at times even stiff (think Dixie Wetsworth from Mad TV's cabana boy skits-lol).  It also doesn't help that I tan super easily. Even wearing SPF 70 and staying underneath the beach umbrella I still managed to get one serious tan.

That's why I was very excited when Neutrogena approached me to try out their new Wave Sonic Power-Cleanser. You see, it's suppose to leave your skin feeling soft and glowing and that's exactly what  my skin needed--pronto!  One of my favorite tips when my skin is feeling dry is to lightly exfoliate it to remove all the dead cells, and not only does it exfoliate but it also deep cleanses and massages all in one step. It's also gentle enough that you can use it every day to wash your face. I know at nights I get very lazy to wash my face, so it will definitely come in handy when I don't feel like doing the work. My skin was seriously left feeling so soft I couldn't stop touching it.

Here's how it works:

Attach disposable pad to the attachment head

Hold under running water to activate

Turn on and choose the speed you want, then massage over the face. After a few seconds it will start foaming up. Once you're done simply rinse off your face with water.

  1. My night time skin routine is to use natural products. First I use olive oil to remove all of my make-up. Then I wash my face with Tree and Witch Hazel Foaming Face Wash and then use a Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Cleansing and Toning Lotion. The last step is not natural, it is a gifted 'Clarins Peau Neuve Renew-Plus Night Lotion with Pre-Retinol and Plant Extracts'. I don't know if all of this is doing me any good cos I still have pimples under my skin... ;(

  3. I use tea tree foaming cleanser from the body shop every night to wash away makeup and unclog pores, and to moisturize and control oiliness I use the blemish fade night lotion from that line. I also exfoliate weekly with St. Ives scrub and drink lots of water to kept my skin soft and glowing.

  4. Thanks for the giveaway! Right now I use Bare Escentuals Purifying Facial Cleanser, Purely Nourishing Moisturizer, Firming Eye Treatment, and at night time I add Pure Transformation Night Treatment to the mix. Besides that: drinking water, staying out of the sun, and wearing spf is my tricks to keeping my skin smooth.

  11. Sometimes if I get home really late after hanging out with my friends I just hop into bed because I have to wake up early to go to work..But otherwise, I use topical cream differin or epiduo, and then I use clearasil oil fighting face wash. It seems to do the trick except for when I am breaking out before my period....I think the wave would probably do the trick that I'm missing in my nightly routine.

Great blog btw, thanks for hosting such an awesome giveaway:)

  13. Usually, I wash my face in the morning. First, I use a regular and traditional way of washing my face with a wash rag and hot water. I've made a bowl of oatmeal with honey to exfoliate. I exfoliate my face at least one a week. (Remember to wash out the bowl of oatmeal as soon as you're finished so it won't mold.) I just get a little scoop of the oatmeal and honey and rub it on one part of my face at a time. I have acne, but I don't really have a "treatment" for it since I've tried almost everything and nothing has worked for me.
For soft skin, you should take vitamin pills. Sometimes your face is breaking out because of lack of vitamins. Also, drink plenty of water and get an adequate amount of sleep. (Most of my acne comes from stress and lack of sleep.)

  14. I usually take my make up off first with baby oil or neutrogena make up remover. The best way I found to keep my skin moist is to wash my face in the shower with all the hot water and steam all around me. I use an exfoliating cream once a week (when i'm not lazy) and I exfoliate my face and neck. if not, then I usually use a green tea based face wash. It keeps my face feeling very moist and soft..the steam in the shower helps too! Lately I've noticed that my skin is starting to feel a little dry..its probably due to the weather changes. I top it off with moisturizing lotion and SPF--if its in the day time--and voila!

    Great blog by the way!

  16. The best tip I can give anyone is always wash your face at night, and put some lotion on. When you wake up, you're face will be so soft you won't want to take your hands off of it, but DO because touching your face is a no-no! lol

  17. For me, the combination of both my eczema AND naturally dry skin has always been an issue when it comes to keeping my skin fresh and soft. To help fight my stubborn flaky skin, I use both a homemade exfoliating recipe (courtesy of Michelle Phan's fantastic DIY video) and the Neutrogena's Oil Free Acne Wash( in the heavenly scent of grapefruit). I wash my face twice a day, and use the exfoliator once a week. Along with these two product, I periodically add in a nice mint julep masque, leaving my skin softer than it has ever been. I always make sure to carry Aveeno lotion with me (my go-to product, a necessity for anyone with skin issues like myself) and apply it throughout my day!

  21. Definitely have to take care of my face before I go to bed or else it'll be a mess in the morning! I usually wash it with a good face wash with acne meds in it...then put on moisturizer and off to bed!
