Video: Telemundo's Un Nuevo Dia- How to Save Money on Your Next Vacation

Hi guys, last week I was on Telemundo's Un Nuevo Dia sharing some of my favorite tips when it comes to saving money while traveling. Here's the video (BELOW) in Spanish in case you'd like to check it out. I also included my tips in English.

Tip #1  Purchase airline tickets ahead of time

It's important to buy tickets ahead of time, at least 30 days to 2 months. Many times, if you can be flexible on the dates, it's even better. For example, traveling one day before or arriving the next day. Apps such as Skyscanner and Kayak are some of my go-to's. They help search over 1,000 airlines and online travel agencies to ensure you are getting the best price.

Tip #2  Look for an all-inclusive

Families can easily spend between $200-$400 on food daily. To save money on food, I like to look for all-inclusive. You can typically find these in the Caribbean, such as Mexico and Jamaica. One of my favorites is Sunscape Cove Montego Bay (I recently went there for my birthday). Not only does it include breakfast, lunch and dinner, but there's also tons of activities the entire family will enjoy. You can check them out and book your own trip here.

Tip #3 Never pay full-price for theme parks

Theme parks are very popular during the summer months, but it seems like tickets just keep getting more and more expensive. I love the website UnderCoverTourist.com. You can easily save between $30-$70 on each ticket and they include the most popular theme parks in Florida and California including Disney, Universal and LEGOLand.

Tip #4  Bundle Packages

Many times you can get a good deal if you bundle packages. For example, bundling your flight and hotel. Do you research and find out how much it costs individually and then compare it to the bundled savings. I find that Expedia has some of the best deals.
