Mini Road-Trip to Tampa with Chevrolet (+ Covid-Friendly Activities in Tampa While Social Distancing)

A few weeks ago, I took a little road trip to Tampa for work. This was my first time traveling anywhere in more than 8 months since Covid. It definitely felt nice to be out of the house, even if it was just for a few days. I decided to stay at an airbnb so I wouldn't have to eat out at a restaurant and could just make all my food at the house.

One of the highlights from my road trip was test driving the all-new 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer for the weekend. I was really impressed with how smooth it drove.

It's a 5 passenger subcompact SUV with roomy seating and cargo space. I even managed to squeeze in all of Valentina's baby gear in the trunk from a pack-n-play, stroller to a portable feeding chair. It also does great on gas 29/33 mpg city/highway.

The most important thing for me is always safety. This vehicle actually comes with several standard advanced safety features like pedestrian detection, lane keep assist and forward collision warning.

If you're looking for an small SUV, but don't have a big budget, you definitely get a lot of bang for your buck with this vehicle.

Covid-Friendly Activities in Tampa

The Beach

Tampa has many beautiful beaches, it was actually hard to try to pick which one we wanted to go to. On any other day I probably would have gone to Clearwater Beach or St. Pete Beach, but since I'm trying to avoid crowds as much as possible I finally decided on Indian Rocks Beach.

Perks of Indian Rocks Beach:

- It's pretty secluded compared to other more popular beaches. We were able to keep our 6 feet distance at all times.

-It has white powdery sand.

-No rocks or mosquitos (I had read reviews from other beaches like Honeymoon Beach, where people complained about the mosquitoes).

-You should still try to get there early to get a good parking spot. We were able to find a spot around 24th Street

Watch the Sunset

The sunsets in Tampa are beautiful. It's also a great outdoor activity you can do while you're there.

Go Kayaking or Paddleboarding

Take a Scenic Drive

On our last day in Tampa we were planning on going to a pier, but it was so crowded that we decided to skip it instead. It actually turned into a beautiful scenic drive of Tampa that we really enjoyed. Here are some of our favorite places for a drive you should check out next time you're there:

- Sunshine Skyway Bridge

- Clearwater Memorial Causeway

-Bayshore Boulevard

-St. Pete Pier

-Bradenton Beach Scenic Highway

Go on a Drive-Thru Safari

Check out Wild Florida Drive Thru Safari without ever having to leave your car. Kids (and adults-alike) will enjoy this activity.
