Beauty Tips to Combat ALLERGY FACE
March 29, 2013
As some of you might already know, I recently partnered with the makers of ZYRTEC to help women combat "ALLERGY FACE"- the beauty challenges, like a puffy face, watery eyes and red nose that are often associated with typical allergy symptoms. We took these pictures while filming my beauty tips last week and I can't wait to share with you the final video. But in the meantime, here are some of my favorite beauty tips to help you feel good and look great this allergy season.
The first thing I like to do when I feel my allergies acting up is take an antihistamine like ZYRTEC. I love that is provides 24-hour relief, so I can really get back to doing the things I love like spending time with our new son. Once I'm feeling better, then I can focus on looking better with these beauty tips....
To distract from you ALLERGY FACE, apply a bronzer with brown undertones parallel to your jawline with an angle brush. Make sure it's only one or two shades darker than your natural skin tone as you don't want to overdo it. This will help contour your face and give your skin a nice glow.
Distract from watery eyes by dabbing a shimmery eye shadow in white or silver in the inner corner of your eyes.
To help relieve puffiness, place two metal spoons in the refrigerator and then place the back of the spoons on your eyelids for five minutes. This will help reduce the puffiness.
To avoid irritating a red nose, use baby wipes instead of tissues, which are gentler on the skin.
To help soften the appearance of a red nose, consider wearing a peachy nude lip, which will detract from your ALLERGY FACE and draw attention to your lips. There are a variety of nudes that are right on trend for spring to compliment every skin tone.
To reduce the appearance of watery eyes, apply mascara in navy blue or cobalt instead of black; this will help brighten the whites in your eyes. This is also a good color combination for Latina women with brown or dark eyes. Be sure to apply several coats of mascara to get the full effect.
To reduce the appearance of a puffy face, also try drinking watermelon juice. It's perfect for the summer! Watermelons have a high water content and are an excellent source of antioxidants.
