Happy Friday + This is YOUR Life

Yesterday was a sad day, my husband's work friend passed away. He was only in his 40's and the craziest part was that three weeks prior we had all gone to the Bahamas. He looked so healthy and happy. He had a smile that was contagious. He leaves behind a wife and two young children. I've never been good dealing with death. I feel when someone close to you passes (especially when it's out of nowhere) it just makes the reality of death so much more real.

It's also a great reminder to really live your life to the fullest and appreciate everyone around you. Sometimes we argue over petty things or dwell on things that aren't worth it.  My husband also taught me to always kiss him good-bye before I left the house (I was really bad at leaving the house without saying bye sometimes). It's the simple things that count in life. Or tell that person you love them, or maybe making a simple call to your mom each morning just to say "hi."

We later learned that he had been diagnosed with a heart condition several years back. But even with that, it didn't stop him from doing all the things he loved.  He will be greatly missed by his friends, family and co-workers. My friend posted this on her blog this week and it just seemed fitting for today's post. It's a great reminder to us all.

Happy Friday my friends! Make it a good one.

xx,
Carmen
