Tips for Getting Swimsuit Ready

I’ve always been a huge fan of Nair; I’ve been using Nair products ever since I was in college. So when they approached me to create a series of blog posts and videos sharing my fashion and beauty tips, I couldn’t have been more ecstatic. For our first installment, I’m sharing tips on how I get swimsuit ready. I’m actually looking forward to heading to the beach more often this summer, especially since I live a few blocks away and my son absolutely loves it. We’re also planning a little trip to Mexico in a few months, so as you can imagine getting bikini ready has definitely been on my mind lately.

But if the thought of getting in a bikini scares you a bit (and I mean who doesn’t it scare)…here are a few things I do to get bikini ready.

Find a bathing suit that flatters your body: Feeling confident in a bathing suit is really important. Instead of shopping online for a bathing suit, I like to go in stores and actually try it on. If you don’t want to go too revealing, I personally love one-piece retro-inspired bathing suits that are right on-trend this summer. Or you could opt for a high-waisted bathing suit or a monokini.

Smooth Legs: We can’t forget about our legs when it comes to getting bikini ready. I used to shave my legs, but would get annoying razor bumps. Now my go-to for silky smooth legs is the Nair Moroccan Argan Oil line. It’s the only at-home hair removal product line in the U.S. infused with 100 percent natural Moroccan Argan Oil. As you probably know by now, Argan oil is packed with soooo many nutrients and moisturizing benefits.

The line includes Nair Ultimate Roll-On Wax Moroccan Argan Oil (a wax that washes clean with soap and water and removes even very short hair from the root); Nair Sprays Away™ Moroccan Argan Oil (convenient spray depilatory for a no-touch application) and Nair Shower Power™ Moroccan Argan Oil (in-shower depilatory cream that does not run-off while you go about your shower routine). I really like the Nair Shower Power since I’m always on-the-go and it’s so convenient. My legs stay smooth and bikini ready without having to spend big bucks at the salon.

Eat Healthy: Nothing can replace eating healthy and working out. I try to reduce the amount of carbs I eat and lay off the sodas. Instead of rice, I swap in quinoa, which is really delicious and a great alternative. These days I barely have time to go to the gym, but I try to stay fit by going on stroller walks with my son around the block. Once he’s off to bed, I also put some yoga videos on my iPad and workout in my living room. Not only does it help me stay in shape, but it’s a great way to de-stress after a long day.

  1. I know soda obviously isn't healthy but how does drinking less help you become swimsuit ready?
