Would you Try a Home MEAL Delivery Service?

Back in January, one of my clients gifted me with two weeks worth of a meal subscription service from Blue Apron after they found out my husband got sick.  It was such a thoughtful gift and came in so handy. Before that, I would always eat out or get takeout, but it really made me conscious of the food we were eating and how important cooking meals at home really is.  I mean, so many of us are so busy with work, kids that the last thing we want to do is cook.

The great thing about Blue Apron is that they make it very easy and it saves you time from a trip to the grocery store or picking out recipes.  Here's how it works in case you've never heard of them before.

They offer flexible plans, which includes their classic 2-person plan where you receive one delivery a week with three meals for two people. Or you can also pick from their Family Plan, which is perfect for feeding a family of four (you can opt to receive either one or two deliveries per week).

Blue Apron is delivered in a refrigerated box so the ingredients stay fresh even if you're not home when the the package arrives. I was so surprised with how neatly everything came packaged. It also comes nicely labeled and with a step-by-step recipe sheet.

I also really like that you can pick between the type of dishes you receive, for example you can pick wether you want Vegetarian dishes, fish, poultry, lamb, beef...etc.

I'm trying not to eat meat anymore and opting for either vegetarian or fish dishes, so it also helped me come up with recipes I would have never thought of before.

For my first recipe, I tried the Miso Yuzu-Glazed Cod with Black Rice and Water Spinach (you can get the recipe here). It took about 35 minutes, but overall it was very easy to prepare and was absolutely delicious.

Here's what it looked like. Pretty impressive right? The only thing I would change, if I could, is that I wish they offered an "all organic" option. The hubby is on a strict diet where he only eats organic food, so having this option would be amazing. But overall, I really enjoyed using Blue Apron. And if you're looking to start making more home-cooked meals, this is a great way to start.

It would also make a great gift for new parents or anyone going through a change in their lives. Have you ever tried a meal delivery service?

In case you want to try it out, I'm excited to offer my first 50 readers two free meals with your first Blue Apron Box. Simply click here.
