Motherhood Mondays: Five Must-Haves for New Moms

By Contributor Amanda Waks

About two and a half months ago my life changed forever. I became a mom! These days I have about 15 minutes, give or take, to take care of myself. Therefore, I have come to love a few products that help make me feel…well, like me again.

1. Coco Bebe Organic Coconut Oil
This product is great for baby and mama – what more can you ask for? I use is on my son’s dry skin and diaper rash and under my eyes to help with the dark circles. Sleep, what’s that? It has a ton of other uses too including stretch marks.

2. Batiste Dry Shampoo
I bought a bottle of dry shampoo before baby arrived and didn’t use it much. Well that has all changed! Showers are hard to come by so I rely on this stuff now. A few spritzes and I am out the door.

3. Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm
Post baby, my lips became more dry than usual. Don’t even ask me why! No idea. This lip balm is always in my pocket. It’s great to moisturize and the color makes me feel less like a zombie.

4. Simple Wishes B3 All-in-One Bra
I did not want to spend $60 on a nursing bra but a friend convinced me and I have not regretted the decision. I wear this bra out and about and to sleep. And best yet, it’s perfect for hands free pumping. If you decide to breastfeed, I highly recommend it.

5.Bamboobies Organic Nipple Balm
Since we’re on the topic of boobs, this post wouldn’t be complete without talking about nipple cream. I haven’t tried them all but this nipple balm by Bambobbies is a winner. Pack a bottle in your hospital bag!
