Review: Slava's Snowshow {Winter in the Summer}

As an Arsht Insider, Andy and I had the opportunity to check-out Slava's Snowshow yesterday performing at the Adrienne Arsht Center and boy did we have a great time. Slava's Snowshow is an immersive experience created by Slava Polunin, the clowning legend who helped develop Cirque du Soleil's unique clown interactions. Andy's favorite part of Cirque du Soleil's Alegria was actually the clowns, so we were very excited for this show.

It had everything from classic European mischief, funny and endearing clowns that squeak and squark at each other and the childhood enchantment of falling snowflakes. We laughed so much.  Everything is also performed to wonderful music. They even had a song from one of my favorites, Paolo Conte!

Don't ask me what it's about because it's really about nothing, yet everything at the same time. Weird I know, but it's filled with so many stories that will take you through a range of emotions from love, laughter and sadness---it's brilliant!

The show will capture the minds of young ones, not to mention adults will also feel like a kid again with the massive snowstorm finale and the giant balls that go out into the audience. It's definitely worth seeing or in Andy's words: "The show is Super Awesome!'

It's currently playing until Sunday, August 6th at the Adrienne Arsht Center with tickets starting at only $30. You can purchase them online here or at the Arsht Center Box office. So if you're looking for something to do this weekend, you'll definitely want to add this to your list!
