Review: Finding Neverland

As an Arsht Insider, I had the chance to check out Finding Neverland performing at the Adrienne Arsht Center (running now through December 31st). My son is obsessed with Peter Pan, so naturally every time he saw the commercial for Finding Neverland he kept telling me he wanted to go. I was so excited to finally take him this week.

The play tells the story behind the making of Peter Pan and chronicles the struggles of Playwright J.M. Barrie to find inspiration for a play. That is until he meets four young brothers and their widowed mother (as a widow myself, I instantly connected to her character). He is mesmerized by the boys' enchanting make-believe adventures that he sets out to write a play that will astound London theatergoers. The magic of Barrie's classic tale springs spectacularly to life in this heartwarming theatrical event, with a twist at the end. Overall, I enjoyed it so much and so did Andy.

3 Looks Perfect for your Holiday Gatherings with Celebrity Stylist Karla Birbragher

A few weeks ago, we were invited to a special holiday fashion event with Target and celebrity stylist Karla Birbragher, where she shared tips on how to up your style game for the holidays. With several holiday parties right around the corner from family gatherings to New Years' parties, these tips will definitely come in handy.

Here are a few looks and tips from Karla to help you get inspired:

Rockin' Red

Red is always a favorite for the holidays but this year, take your look to the next level by mixing and matching different shades of red! For my ladies, I paired a floral duster kimono jacket layered over a satin cami with crepe jogger pants, a tassel necklace and a ruffle heel, making it fun and trendy.

This outfit works great for a family gathering. It’s stylish, edgy and also very comfortable, which is important if you are running around after the little ones.

For my fellas, I pulled together a plaid button down shirt with a bomber jacket and medium wash skinny jeans. I recommend adding a classic suede boot to pull this look together.

The second look I styled is perfect for any holiday party, whether it be for work or with your girlfriends! Velvet is one of the hottest trends this season and this velvet slip dress is THE holiday choice. Target offers dresses with exaggerated details and fun new prints that can pair with any outfit this holiday season. I finished this outfit with a faux fur stole, pom pom drop earrings, and white booties to tie in the look and give it that elegant touch.

For men, I love monochromatic outfits. The green on green look I styled is everything! You can easily achieve this look by pairing a twill button down shirt with a chino blazer and chino pants. Step up your shoe game by adding a wingtip boot that will keep you warm and fashionable at the same time.

Some holiday events—like low-key family gatherings or holiday shopping sprees—call for outfits that are comfortable and cute. I’ve been eyeing this chunky cowlneck tunic that pairs perfectly with chic velvet leggings, embellished mules and fun accessories.

For the guys the athleisure trend is still going strong, so I channeled that style into this laid-back look, using Goodfellow & Co from head to toe! I love how the sage green bomber jacket and trendy white tennis shoes elevate a simple jogger and t-shirt combo.
