Here's the latest post I did for New Latina's Mentoring Hermanas.
Jenny asks: I work from home and wear my hair in the same style and wear gym clothes everywhere. Any advice on how to pull together a look for someone that works from home?
Thanks for writing in. Working from home definitely has its perks, but at the same time it can easily become a sweatpants trap. In the words of Nina Garcia “style is like a muscle, if you don’t use it you lose it.” The key to finding a pulled together look when you work from home is finding pieces that you can still feel comfortable in. For the most part, that’s why many women who work from home turn to their pajamas or gym clothes—because it’s comfy. But being comfy can still be achieved while looking equally chic. Here some suggestions on what to look for:
Wrap Dress: A cotton wrap dress is definitely a must in every woman’s wardrobe. It’s a classic staple that will never go out of style. It’s also universally flattering on all body types and when your girlfriends call you to grab lunch you can be out the door in no time.
Jersey Blazer: A jersey blazer is the latest modern take on the classic blazer (without looking stuffy or being too corporate). The material is so soft you’ll never want to take it off.
