Steal their 'Magic City' Look

Like many lately, I've been coveting the fashion from the new STARZ original series, Magic City (think of it as Mad Men, but even better!). The show takes place in Miami Beach (my hometown) in 1959 and centers around the glamorous Miramar Playa Hotel. From the mob to the Kennedys and the CIA, this is the playground for the wealthy and powerful. So, as you can imagine, the leading ladies are always seen dressed to-the-nines and wearing some amazing vintage and glamorous clothing. With the recent retro throwback we're seeing this season, from peplum skirts to feminine styles, recreating your favorite look from Magic City will be a breeze.

I'm in love with this yellow swimsuit/wrap combo, which gives the illusion of an A-line dress. It's worn by Vera Evans, played by the stunning former Bond girl Olga Kurylenko. Vera is a Miami socialite and the wife of central character Ike Evans (played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who you've seen in Grey's Anatomy and Watchmen). This look is perfect for a summer day and the fitted structure of the dress reflects the preferred silhouette of the time. The color and bold pattern, however, make it feel more playful. Another one of my favorite looks is this navy shirt-dress worn by Meg Bannock, played by Kelly Lynch. She plays a sophisticated and savvy business woman who comes from old money with a connection from Ike's past. Her outfits are always classy and sophisticated, and this is a perfect example. This look is effortlessly chic and one that will never go out of style. Here's where you can get a similar look for less:

Shirt-Dress, Jones New York, $69
