Viva Travels: Where to Stay in Key West

I've been to Key West quite a few times and have stayed at different hotels, but I have to say this was one of my favorites. We stayed at 'The Reach, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, which is a few blocks away from Duval Street (where all the action is), but still far enough if you want some peace and quiet. The rooms were extra clean and a pretty good size. As you can see, my little one enjoyed running all around and climbing on the sofas.  Check-in was at 4pm, but we arrived to Key West a little early--12pm! Luckily, they were able to have our room ready by 2pm--and when you're traveling with a toddler (who needs to eat and nap) any bit helps.

My favorite part of the resort was the private beach. If you've stayed in Key West before, you probably know it's not known for its beaches---they're rocky and not really pretty. But this beach, although small, was the prettiest beach I've seen in the Keys.

The room also had a balcony overlooking the beautiful view. Our last night in Key West we walked to Mallory Square (about a 25 minute walk). They have daily street performers that are always so much fun to watch. Then we grabbed dinner at The Conch Republic Seafood Company, they have some delicious oysters and conch fritters. It's also right on the water, so you can watch the sunset as you eat.

If you're looking for places to stay in Key West, I really recommend this resort. You're going to love it!

ps. I'll be posting a blog post on Disney Baby (where I am a contributing writer) on my favorite things to do in Key West with a toddler---so stay tuned)

pss. here's one of my very first travel posts I did back in 2009 on Key West.
