Rewind: Our 2016 Trip to San Diego with Hampton by Hilton

This year has been the year of travel (I'm actually in Colombia right now as I write). I feel so fortunate to have partnered with Hampton by Hilton again this year as part of their Ultimate Seekender Team to discover new destinations and adventures. The first year as a Seekender I visited Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and this year I got to visit San Diego, California.

It was my first time visiting San Diego and it was everything I thought it would be and so much more. We got to do some pretty cool stuff like kayaking the sea caves in La Jolla, visit the World Famous San Diego Zoo, hike Torrey Pines Park and take a stroll through Balboa Park among other things. It was such a memorable trip. This trip taught me so much about myself too. I think I might have mentioned this before, but it was also my first trip without my late husband. It taught me how capable I am of planning beautiful experiences for me and my son (I was always really bad at planning trips). I even rented a car and drove through the beautiful streets and hills of San Diego all on my own (with nothing but my GPS lol).

But one thing I’ve learned from being a Seekender is that we have to seize every opportunity we get. I love that their campaign is all about seizing the weekend. The Seekender lifestyle is about pursuing your passion while being surrounded by the people who matter most.

Our stay at the Hampton by Hilton in San Diego was perfect. I created new memories with Andy and not to mention it was lovely to wake up to free, hot breakfast every day and free Wi-Fi. The rooms were spacious and super clean and the staff was beyond friendly.

Here are some of my favorite pictures from our trip and some that didn't make the first cut (of our Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 series, filled with tips on things to do in San Diego).

Special thanks to Hampton by Hilton for having me as a Seekender! And here's to YOU being a Seekender too in 2017!
